About the Hands on Nashville Urban Farm

Youth volunteers harvest sweet potatoes at the urban farm

In partnership with Mayor Karl Dean’s Office and the Metropolitan Board of Parks and Recreation, Hands On Nashville (HON) is developing an Urban Farm that will rehabilitate an area of the Mill Creek floodway, create a positive asset for the community, and engage volunteers – primarily young people – in service and learning. Produce harvested at the HON Urban Farm will be donated to local nonprofits that serve low-income communities.
